A mixture of sedimentary stone and igneous stone. Lime mortar used as a building mortar with coarse sands and washed sand for lime wash coatings have both deteriorated over time allowing for negative musty air quality, loose stones, crumbling mortar, voids, spalling bricks, leaks, voids and structural concerns.

Restored Somerville stone foundation with complete lime mortar repairs. Careful removal of damaged bricks, stones and mortar to allow for accurate restoration. Soft spalling brick repairs replaced with 53 d's soft bricks. Stone cracks and voids repaired and packed with fortified lime mortar. Complete interior mortar repairs with lime based mortar. Breathable waterproof coatings added for accurate period correct preservation and full stone foundation restoration.
