We have the benefit of professional lime mortar training from Europe passed on from generation to generation. While in Ireland and England our Grandfather worked on 1400's and 1500's homes on a regular basis. When arriving in America in the 1960's the 1600'S and 1700's early Colonial construction seemed relatively new in comparison.
The common feature in 1400's properties from England and homes in Salem, Winchester and around Boston area was that they all used lime for construction.
Knowing how to treat lime, hydrate lime into mortar and restore lime mortar foundations was second nature. Having first hand experience in restoration and brick laying our family was relied upon by local contractors, property owners and supply houses.
Growing up in a masonry family and being trained from a young age on mortar mixing and all aspects of repairs. Basement restoration and waterproofing became inherent knowledge. One of our fathers fondest things in basements was to say '' Okay lets find the leaks''.
Along with generations of masonry experience we have been able to establish and maintain a stone foundation restoration business for decades with 1000's of examples and unmatched service to our customers.
